Tribal Prints: Are you in?

As I am trying to recover from a bad sore throat and a sudden emerging asthma problem, making it impossible for me to breathe at night, resulting in many awakenings of my puffy eyed sorry self, I am also facing an inner dilemma of an identity crisis. At times like this, when I am trying to 'hybernate' at home whilst taking care of myself, in the midst of it all, I feel very very much unproductive. And that feeling alone, eats my soul, bullies my mind and creeps into my existence. I want to be better. I want to do so much. And then it occurs to me; this Blog. Oh yes! My getaway to Fashion, my recovery from the mundane household chores I perform each and every day. Yes, blessed I surely am. I love my surroundings and I surely love the people I take care of. But this routine sometimes gets the best of me and I often wonder why I stopped ignoring you Dear Blog?...Why is it that my heart aches and misses you, craves for you - for the written word. Perhaps, it's my intellect calling you out on the basis of Fashion or perhaps my existence needs an affirmative answer to my rambling thoughts for that I feel the need to gather my words on virtual screen. Perhaps...

Well, enough of this melodrama! Aaaahhhh! TRIBAL PRINTS. Yes, let's focus on the subject given. Now, I've always found tribal prints somewhat overbearing and too South American looking, but with just the right touch, you may surprise yourself. I took a glance at the latest Express Fashion Catalog sitting uselessly on my kitchen counter and liked what I saw!

Now, see for yourself:

Today's Trend: Animal Print

I have never been a huge fan of much animal print, but animal print done in a tasteful design and pattern, can definitely catch my eye and eventually be worn on my body. I am speaking of the latest craze for Python prints. Make your inner pythons come out, ladies and put your inner lionesses to rest!

The Python Print dress worn by Courtney Cox looks amazing on her and suits her perfectly with her blackish, long hair. It's almost as if she's born with this dress - there seems to be no effort, no extra frills - just the simple dress with the animal print which is extremely alluring in itself. The silky belt accentuates not only her fabulous waist line, but also distracts one from looking only at print and print alone.  Here you see, I feel the need to compliment the animal represented; thank you python!

Lanvin Python Print Dress:
Brown and cream python-print silk dress with a gray grosgrain self-belt at the waist. Lanvin dress has a collar, a round neck draped, ruffled short sleeves, side pockets, longer hem at the back and simply slips on. 100% silk.

For the premiere of Bad Teacher, Cameron Diaz was spotted wearing a black and gold sequined tiger animal print by Emilio Pucci. This 38 year old actress looks confident, sexy and yet very feminine wearing this fancy take on animal print. I love it!

On the runway - Leopard Print:

Lady Gaga looking, well, quite her eccentric-self, wearing Leopard print. Not my style.

Hilary Duff on-the-go wearing Leopard print leggings with a white tee and creamish cardigan. I like the way she wears it. It's not overdone.

Of course, Jennifer Lopez, looking like a Goddess in her printed dress! She always pulls it together! Gorgeous!

Paris Hilton Women's Destiny:

By Guess:

BCBGirls Giraffe Print Peep-Toe Pumps

I love this pump! It's classy, chic and just beautiful!

And so, here's the REAL deal -

What animal skin are you?

Creative Finds: Random Eclectic Mood Setters ~

I had some fun preparing for this post while looking for images that appeal to my eclectic mood and hit my creative nerve. Whether it is the interior design of a kitchen, or pieces of jewelry displayed in vintage bowls - the playfulness along with the whimsicality of design and texture really defines the set-up of a space. My style is exactly that. I love to be risky; to be a bit different than the 'norm' and mix it up a little. I love vintage, antique, contemporary, traditional all at the same time and the best thing is to give it some contrast. I believe my personality also suits to the description above. I like to have fun, but along the way, you will find me serious, deep, sad, witty, goofy, romantic and happy. I think it is extremely important to make your living space according to your taste buds as it should nurture your soul and love you right back!

Here's my creative finds!

This kitchen with the chandelier is to DIE for! So much class and sophistication!

Awww!

Gotta like the wall stickers. I love how you can go nuts with adding bright furniture pieces!

I'd like to throw a party here...
Contemporary & Sweet:

Jewelry that doesn't go unnoticed...

I love everything about this; the closet, the picture-less frames. I would like to create something like this for Mehreen's room when she's a little older. :)

If I'd walk in this room, I'd be happy!

My ultimate DREAM room:

...and my ULTIMATE dream bathroom!

Roses so beautiful and behind them, the couch that is the perfect color blue!

I like the backdrop that defines the entire look of this bedroom set. The stark lines of the bedding and the matching colors match beautifully. Also, the nightstand lamps go perfect with the setting. Look closely, if you have the eye for detail, you will notice what I'm noticing...
{will reveal at the end of this post}

Love it!

I also put shells that I've collected from the beach as a display on the book shelves.

It almost seems as if this chair has a story to tell...

I like this vintage cardigan:

Tights I'd wear with those shoes!

Love the stuffed owl and the stuffed octopus for kids to play with:

 TOTALLY my style:

My taste buds are in full effect now! I have a passion for all that I find beautiful, especially when there is so much creativity involved in the making of the product. Life sure seems to be beautiful! Design it the way YOU like it. :)

P.S: Did you see it? And...?

It's the NIGHT STANDS! I love how they've used two different night stands [the one on the left is actually a coffee table]. The forest green color of the table compliments the green plant on the right night stand! Like I said; take the risk, mix it up and live a little. ;)
