The Groovy Mix

This post isn't about the latest album mix, but I decided to give it its title, just to spunk things up a bit! Yeah, let's give it a mix!
Lately, I have been feeling quite eccentric and distracted- every garment that stands out or I find original, I tend to stop, feel the fabric and then I imagine putting the pieces together that perhaps don't belong together. Maybe I'm stride with myself. Maybe I am trying to defy the 'conventional' in me and want to embrace the boldness - the very different & daring.

I may have a problem with dull objects and simultaneously, I have a problem with myself being dull in every way, which hardly happens unless I feel the urge of being sad. Yes, there are times when I 'urge' the need for sadness; it's hard to explain. And then there are times when I very much feel my romantic self and think poetically about life. On days like today, when I have a million tasks spinning in my head, trying to conquer the world with my unstoppable thoughts [there is literally a spinning wheel inside my head], I sit back, open the windows, look at the garden and take in the beauty of nature; even if it's just a dragonfly swifting over the plants or the little kitten who resides in our backyard which I notice now to have full-grown into a cat. I very much see life happening just within the distance of two feet from me. My mind puts me to rest and assures me of my eclectic ability to absorb several things at the same time and perhaps appreciate life in a manner as it's been given to me; in different parts, in different roles...yet all in one mere existence. Confusing? Ha! Welcome to my world.

Let's ease our minds with the playfulness of Spring fashion, shall we? (click to enlarge images)

Below: A nice fedora hat on a clean face and minimal color (like a clean white buttoned down shirt), looks extremely confident. I've always thought of hat wearing people to have the highest self-esteem. I especially love the red straw hat with the beige chiffon shirt. A perfect look for a picnic with your love or the gals!

Dahlia Top Stitch Collar and Button Front Tea Dress: I adore, adore this dress for its many reasons - the soft shaped collar, the golden buttons, the sweet rose color and the added detail of the pearls. Very cute! Available at asos.com fro $116.55

Let's dare to be different. I very much like the vertical-striped black&white sheer blouse, the sleeveless crew-neck underneath and as a contrast to the whole look; her red band wrapped around her head while still looking quite the girl!
Evil Twin "Lost Prophets" Oversized Shirt at asos.com for $121.92

'Truly Madly Deeply' tee + striped cardigan + floral leggings = much romantic, eh?

I love the texture/fabric of the knit miniskirt on the left. The pullover sweatshirt in the middle looks like 'no big deal' and can be worn in the city of SF while cycling with your girlfriends. I would wear this pullover with the berry colored skinny jeans. (right)

A cute Toggle Jacket on the left; the combo of mustard and grey really goes with the jacket.
The rest of the pieces make for one ensemble. Do you notice the diagonal cut in the skirt as well as the top? Aha! Wear it with the red strappy wedge and the rhinestone headwrap. Now you got something going there. ;)

Apparently, it's the season of skull heads. Alexander McQueen skull head scarf: $295.00 at zappos.com:

My eccentric 'Anthropologie' picks:

Banana Republic giving old fashioned 'cargo' a new skinny twist! :

Paisley, flowy and a little bit vest worthy makes for an afternoon stroll in the park:

I guess at the end I am a 'groovy' mix of all the clothing displayed [metaphorically people]...I feel loose, bizarre, abstract, risky [skull heads, remember?], flirtatious [the floral leggings], sweet [the dahlia collar dress] artistic [anthropologie syndrome] & confident [you know-what-you-want hat wearing people]--- all of it while maintaining this persona that chooses to change like the rays of sun creating different atmospheres, different moods within the proximity they fall.

Still confused? Oh, go buy a hat will ya! ;)

xoxo,
Naila~
